Synopsis

Bambi, a Life in the Woods is a coming-of-age story that follows the life of Bambi, a deer, from his birth through old age. As Bambi grows and matures, he experiences the loss of his mother, the finding of a mate, and learns about betrayal and essential lessons of the forest from his father. But most importantly, he realizes the danger posed by “He,” the term used by the animals to describe human hunters in the forest. In the end, Bambi learns the vital tools to survive in an unforgiving world.This version was translated from the original German novel written by Felix Salten and depicts the harsh and hostile environment encountered by animals living in the wild and is not recommended for younger children.

Author Bio

Felix Salten (1869–1945) was an Austrian author and critic whose most famous work is Bambi, a Life in the Woods. He was born Siegmund Salzmann in Budapest, Hungary, but immigrated with his family to Vienna, Austria, when he was only four weeks old.
