P. L. Travers (1899–1996) was a drama critic, travel essayist, reviewer, lecturer, and author of the Mary Poppins books. She wrote several other books for adults and children, but it is for the character of Mary Poppins that she is best remembered.

Rosalyn Landor is an English-born television, theater, and multiple-award-winning audiobook narrator. Her television credits include Love in a Cold Climate, Rumpole of the Bailey, Sherlock Holmes, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. OK, so this is not actually the 4th book. It was published fourth of all the Mary Poppins books but chronologically, the events here play out some time between the second and third book.
