Synopsis

A kind heart can create beauty. A cruel tongue can summon consequences.

In Toads and Diamonds, Andrew Lang presents a classic French fairy tale about kindness, pride, and the unexpected magic hidden in everyday choices. When a gentle younger sister offers water to an old woman at a well, she discovers that the stranger is no ordinary beggar, but a fairy in disguise. As a reward for her kindness, every word she speaks brings forth flowers, pearls, and diamonds.

But when her proud and selfish older sister is sent to seek the same reward, her rude behavior earns a very different fate. Instead of jewels and blossoms, each word she speaks brings forth toads and serpents, revealing the ugliness of her heart.

Magical, memorable, and rich with timeless lessons, Toads and Diamonds is a beloved fairy tale about generosity, manners, and the power of the words we choose.

Beautifully narrated by Eleesha Lewis, this enchanting audiobook brings Andrew Lang’s classic tale to life with warmth, wonder, and imagination.
