Synopsis

Step through the mirror's silvered mist into a backward world where logic is upside-down, chess pieces breathe, and absolute nonsense rules supreme.

While playing with her kittens on a snowy afternoon, a curious Alice discovers she can walk straight through the great mirror above the fireplace. She instantly falls into Looking-Glass House, an enchanted realm laid out like a massive, life-sized chessboard. To find her way home, Alice must navigate across the squares to become a Queen, but the journey is fraught with bewildering obstacles. She will encounter the bizarre Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the pedantic Humpty Dumpty, a singing White Knight, and the fearsome Jabberwock. Time moves backwards, running fast keeps you in exactly the same place, and the rules of reality are brilliantly warped in this surreal and treacherous landscape.
Listeners of all ages will be completely captivated by this masterpiece of Children's Fantasy. If you love classic literature full of quirky humor, surreal whimsical worlds, portal fantasy magic, talking animals, and clever wordplay, this audiobook is an absolute must-listen. It is the ultimate tale of imagination and dream-like wonder that continues to defy all expectations.
Lewis Carroll (the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) was a brilliant English mathematician, logician, and author whose genius forever changed the landscape of children's literature. By weaving complex mathematical logic into delightfully absurd fairy tales, he created enduring stories that continue to enchant generations worldwide.

About Lewis Carroll

English writer and mathematician Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who wrote under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll, was especially known for his children's books Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Besides being classic children's entertainment, they are also distinguished for their satire and verbal wit.

The son of a vicar, Carroll was a precocious child who showed early interest in both writing and mathematics. He studied mathematics and was appointed to a lectureship at Christ Church, Oxford. Carroll continued studying and prepared for holy orders for almost thirty years. Although he took deacon's orders in 1861, Carroll was never ordained as a priest.

A shy retiring bachelor, Carroll was happiest in the company of children, and his favorite was Alice Liddell, daughter of the dean of Christ Church. On a boating trip up the river Isis, Carroll told Alice and her three older sisters a story of "Alice's Adventures Underground," weaving into it many of the places and things they'd seen on their outings together. Alice was enchanted by the story and begged him to write it down. By the following February, Carroll had written a first draft and decided to publish it as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Although he wrote a wide range of other books, including many on the subject of advanced mathematics, he is best remembered for his children's classics.
