Synopsis

A desperate promise. A stolen princess. A love destined for tragedy.

Princess Toutebelle is admired throughout the kingdom for her extraordinary beauty—but her pride leads her to reject every royal suitor who seeks her hand.

Fearing that her daughter will never marry, the Queen journeys into the desert to ask a powerful fairy for help. When she is surrounded by ferocious lions, a cruel and mysterious creature known as the Yellow Dwarf offers to save her—but only if she promises him the princess as his bride.

Soon, Toutebelle is trapped by the same terrible bargain.

When the princess finally falls in love with the noble King of the Gold Mines, their wedding is shattered by dark magic. The Yellow Dwarf and the vengeful Desert Fairy abduct the lovers, separating them across enchanted kingdoms filled with monsters, deception, and danger.

A magical sword and the aid of a compassionate mermaid offer one final hope of rescue—but pride, jealousy, and misunderstanding drive the story toward an unforgettable conclusion.

Dark, imaginative, and haunting, The Yellow Dwarf is a classic literary fairy tale about vanity, broken promises, sacrifice, and tragic love.

Narrated by T.T. Ntehelang, this audiobook brings Andrew Lang’s timeless tale to life with mystery, magic, and dramatic adventure.
