“An inventive fantasy.” Booklist

“The Toymaker’s Apprentice is a big, swift-moving tale, bursting with invention. Partly a mad retelling of The Nutcracker by way of Pinocchio, partly an homage to the rich folklore of Central Europe, it transcends its sources to become something altogether new.” Ben Tripp, author of The Accidental Highwayman
