Synopsis

Long time ago there were 3 houses, where lived a tailor, a carpenter and a smith. They were married and their wives were friends. Every Sunday they went together to church to have a regular gossip, on the way home they always stopped at a tavern to drink some brandy. Half a pint of brandy cost three pence, so that was just a penny from each of them. But the brandy went up in price - four pence for the half a pint. Nobody of them was willing to pay the extra penny. They decided to wager with each other whose husband was the most stupid and on the next Sunday this woman should play her husband the greatest trick and through this became free from paying, so each of the two others would give two pence for their Sunday's half pint. How will this story end? What jokes will they play?
