Synopsis

“You can’t help but fall in love with Lynsay Sands!”
—Christina Dodd Whether she’s enthralling readers with the exploits of her Argeneau vampire family, transporting fans to the Scottish Highlands, or enchanting them with love affairs of the noble lords and ladies of the Regency ton, New York Times and USA Today bestseller Lynsay Sands knows how to pen a winner! The Heiress—the second book in the very sexy, very funny Regency romance series she began with The Countess—is further proof of Sands’s historical romance mastery. The winning tale of an alluring beauty desperately seeking a poor husband, The Heiress is exactly the kind of sharp and witty read that fans of Julie Garwood and Teresa Medeiros—not to mention Lynsay’s own army of aficionados—are looking for.

About Lynsay Sands

I have always heard avid readers (or listeners, in the case of audio books) say that one of their happiest times is getting lost in a good book. But, it never occurred to me that the writers of books feel the same way. Ontario, Canada born author Lynsay Sands has just that feeling when she writes. She says it may be that writers are secret control freaks, getting to make "God-like" decisions such as who is good or evil, who lives or dies, who is successful or not in every story. One satisfaction is making sure the good guys win and the bad guys get their punishment....... that does not always happen in real life. Sands says writers are also dreamers who get to make a living doing their dreaming.

Sands favorite genre is writing about vampires. As a matter of fact, she would not mind being one. She imagined being one as she wrote her books, all of which have a touch of her good sense of humor. She promised the vampire community that she would not reveal too much or use real names. But then, as she got into her writing, she did not keep her promise, and found it humorous to go back on your word to a bunch of vampires.

Sands has been writing Paranormal Romance books for several years, but not since 1142, the year she claimed to be born, as a vampire. She likes to explain......."that's what books are; waking dreams or stories, tales to amuse, entertain and distract us from everyday life".

⭐ ⭐ 💫 2½ stars. A somewhat repetitive read (too much of the story was the same story line as the first book.) But the main characters were still interesting and it was a entertaining read.......more

I really liked “The Countess.” But I can’t say I liked it so much that I wanted to read huge chunks of it a second time. It pains me to speak poorly of “The Heiress,” because I really did enjoy the parts that were new. Unfortunately, I can’t ignore how much of this book was a rehash of its predecess......more

I really enjoyed this book. Lynsay always adds fun and adventure together so well. This book is a just about a mirror reflection of the first book in this series, but you get more of the man’s point of view from Daniel. I very much enjoyed it even if it felt like I was going through the same book at......more

I hate that a lot of the story was the same story line as the first book.......more

Sadly, this is mostly the first book from a different perspective. The plot is known and some scenes were skipped since we already know the outcome, but it took so long to get to the “new” part of the story. The first half feels too long and rushed at the same time. The characters didn’t have enough......more
