Synopsis

Brought to you by Penguin.

Why do our friends have more friends than we do? Can simple maths help us with our self-esteem? And how can game theory offer solutions to the climate emergency?

When we reason well, it is easier to be happy (and good and also, you know, right). But when dealing with others, it's not enough to be clever - you must be able to put yourself in the shoes of the clever person opposite you and think of what they might do. It's this insight that lies at the heart of Reason to Be Happy, whether you are dealing with the Cuban Missile Crisis or letting go of anger.

Full of fascinating thought experiments and revealing stories, Reason to Be Happy is a paean to the power of rationality. If you want to have a good life and even make the world a better place, you need to start by thinking clearly.

I created account on Goodreads just to write a review for this misleading piece of work. If you are expecting some psychological practical and fun guidance to change your perspective or see different point of views for a day-to-day regular men problems look elsewhere. Although the title and the desc......more

The title is somewhat misleading. I thought it would be more on individual happiness and lifehacks through reasoning. A light read also. The book is about revolutions and creating a better world for everyone. A much more Noble idea of course, just not what I was expecting. Pretty interesting though.......more
