Pinocchio

Read by Martin Jarvis, simply the best puppet story ever written. The listener soon becomes caught up with Collodi's impish creation as they are swept along at a cracking action-packed pace which begins with Geppetto carving the puppet from a piece of wood and is followed by many exciting and dangerous adventures.

This is the book that inspired Walt Disney's famous cartoon film. Written in 1883, the tale reminds children of what can happen if you tell lies, behave selfishly and don't do what you are told. Pinocchio plays truant, runs away from home, and generally gets himself into all sorts of troublesome situations. What is worse, his attempts to lie his way out of them go awfully wrong!
