I can say this was a bad book. It had me quite intrigued. But Volponi's writing is bad. Really bad. He's out of touch 15 years ago. Kids just don't think, talk, or act like this. This is a young adult book and I'm far past the age it is recommended for, but I enjoyed it and found it a fast read. I lived in the New Orleans area when Hurricane Katrina hit, but we were able to get out before the storm and did not directly experience any of the horror in the city, except via TV.......more
