Arnold Lobel (1933–1987) illustrated many wonderful children’s books but is most beloved for his Frog and Toad stories, including the first one, Frog and Toad Are Friends, published in 1970. The books have garnered much acclaim, including a Caldecott Honor for Frog and Toad Are Friends and a Newbery Honor for Frog and Toad Together. These were followed by Frog and Toad All Year and Days with Frog and Toad.
Mark Linn-Baker was most recently seen as ""Toad"" in the Broadway musical A Year with Frog and Toad. He is a producing director of New York Stage and Film, and his Broadway credits include A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Neil Simon's Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Face Value, and Doonesbury. For many, he is best known as Larry Appleton of television's Perfect Strangers.
While my favorite Arnold Lobel books are definitely Frog and Toad, this collection has some good titles, too. The narration is pleasant, with funny voices. This would make a great companion with the books to read along. Lobel's stories are funny classics that all kids should definitely experience!......more
