I read this waaaay back in middle school, or maybe my freshman year of high school? It was a bit cheesy - adult me says it is definitely cheesy, but teenager me also thought it was a little cliched and cheesy. There is no denying that Lois Duncan was a very good author and it is present in books whether they were written by her in the 1960s, 1970s or 1980s.
