1984

This is a must read classic. I found it very disturbing and not out of the realm of possibility. I gave it 4 instead of 5 because Orwell likes to hammer home his points, but it kind of goes on forever and ever and in some parts is quite brutal to get through.

1984 is not a particularly good novel, but it is a very good essay. On the novel front, the characters are bland and you only care about them because of the awful things they live through.
