Synopsis

"It's more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like 'What about lunch?'" This collection comprises two of the most loved stories in children's fiction; Winnie the Pooh and its sequel, The House at Pooh Corner, both written for A.A. Milne's son, Christopher Robin, whose toy animals were the basis for many of the characters and whose name is given to the young boy who also appears in these beloved tales. Winnie the Pooh introduces the honey-loving bear of little brain and his friends—including Piglet, Eeyore and Owl—and tells of their adventures in the enchanting Hundred Acre Wood, which continue in The House at Pooh Corner, in which Pooh meets the irrepressible Tigger for the first time, learns to play Pooh sticks and sets a trap for a Heffalump. These heart-warming stories explore themes of loyalty, kindness and friendship, and the bittersweet but inevitable changes that come with growing up, making Winnie the Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner two of the most beloved children's' books of all time. Alan Alexander Milne (1882–1956) was an English author, playwright, and poet best known for creating the beloved children's stories of Winnie-the-Pooh. Milne wrote for Granta magazine before becoming a contributor and later assistant editor at Punch. Though he initially gained recognition as a playwright and humorist, his fame was cemented with the publication of Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1928), inspired by his son Christopher Robin and his toys. Milne also served in World War I and the Home Guard during World War II. Despite his wide-ranging literary career, his legacy remains most strongly tied to the timeless tales of Pooh and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood.

Reviews

Novela entretenida.
