Synopsis

New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands brings the heat in this new Argeneau novel, as one woman is rescued by an irresistible immortal …“Vampires...”When Raffaele Notte pulls a barely dressed, disoriented woman from the ocean, the last thing he expects is for her to utter that word. The immortal has come to the island resort to help his cousin, but now, it seems, there are rogue vampires dining on unsuspecting tourists. And he soon realizes that not only is Jess a target, she’s also the life mate he’s been waiting for…Vampires are real. Jess would’ve never believed it until she saw them with her own eyes. She knows she has to get off the island, and her gallant rescuer has offered to help. There’s something about Raffaele that’s unlike any man she has ever met, and his touch sends pleasure through her that is beyond all imagining. But when Jess discovers who he really is, will she risk life as she knows it for a chance of forever by his side?

About Lynsay Sands

I have always heard avid readers (or listeners, in the case of audio books) say that one of their happiest times is getting lost in a good book. But, it never occurred to me that the writers of books feel the same way. Ontario, Canada born author Lynsay Sands has just that feeling when she writes. She says it may be that writers are secret control freaks, getting to make "God-like" decisions such as who is good or evil, who lives or dies, who is successful or not in every story. One satisfaction is making sure the good guys win and the bad guys get their punishment....... that does not always happen in real life. Sands says writers are also dreamers who get to make a living doing their dreaming.

Sands favorite genre is writing about vampires. As a matter of fact, she would not mind being one. She imagined being one as she wrote her books, all of which have a touch of her good sense of humor. She promised the vampire community that she would not reveal too much or use real names. But then, as she got into her writing, she did not keep her promise, and found it humorous to go back on your word to a bunch of vampires.

Sands has been writing Paranormal Romance books for several years, but not since 1142, the year she claimed to be born, as a vampire. She likes to explain......."that's what books are; waking dreams or stories, tales to amuse, entertain and distract us from everyday life".

This is the 28th book in the Argeneau series and Sands is still writing strong original plots that keeps the reader captivated by her storytelling. Jess is trapped into attending a family destination wedding, only to find that she and her (not favorite) cousin have somehow been convinced to take a to......more

I hate to say it, but this is probably my second LEAST favorite in the series. (Considering that there are 28 books, not liking two isn't to shabby a ratio.) I love the Argeneau family (and all their relatives), but this one was just too... meh for me. The main non-Notte/Argeneau character wasn't pa......more

And, Lynsay Sands does it again. I seriously cannot believe that she can write the 28th book in this series and still keep the stories fresh and exciting and this one has a serious twist to it that totally had me scratching my head. Jess would never have believed vampires existed until she saw it wit......more

The Argeneau series was one of the first series that introduced me to urban fantasy/vampire romance and on top of everything it was hilarious in places, sadly the series has never returned to that level of entertainment but it is still entertaining since I hardly sat the book down in spite of the we......more
