Synopsis

Nine mythologies. Nine toolkits. One complete system for building worlds that breathe.Myth isn't a relic. It's the oldest technology for making sense of a world that refuses to stay simple, and you don't need a degree in classics to wield it.The Mythology Builder's Toolkit gives you nine complete workshop chapters, each packed with archetypes drawn from mythologies worldwide, worked examples you can steal from, and creative dares that won't let you play it safe.WHAT'S INSIDE:The Genesis Engine: six ways worlds begin, and how creation shapes the mapThe Divine Spectrum: gods, ghosts, and the hungry dead as one living ecosystemThe Mirror Framework: heroes and villains built as two halves of one woundThe Hunger Principle: why every monster worth building wants more than it eatsThe Pairing Principle: relics and sanctums that need each other to matterThe Scale Shift: every quest is a small apocalypse; every apocalypse is someone's questFrom Greek and Norse to Yoruba, Hindu, Maya, Aboriginal Australian, and dozens more, this book draws on over 100 cultural traditions to give you frameworks that work for any world you're building.A through-line mythology called the Loom runs across all nine chapters, built from scratch, showing every toolkit in action: creation to apocalypse, gods to monsters, tricksters to prophecy.Whether you're writing a novel, designing a tabletop campaign, or building a world from the ground up, this is the craft book that treats mythology as a living practice, not a museum exhibit. From the creator of Gods and Monsters, one of the largest mythology encyclopedias on the web, and the daily Substack read by over 50,000 mythology lovers. No formulas. About Hannibal Hills

Hannibal Hills has been a "performer" from the beginning. At school, he trained in acting and theater arts at Southampton College, and also received a diploma in television. Although he
performed in many stage plays (by Lorca, Brecht, Stoppard, Pinter, and, of course,
Shakespeare), he also helped produce original works, and soon found himself mostly in the
directing role. More recently, in March of 2020, he won the "Best Newcomer" award (no
small feat for this middle-aged guy!) as part of his regional media's annual theater
awards. In March of 2021, he was thrilled to receive three Independent Audiobook Award
nominations. Hannibal was also a top wedding and memorial celebrant, before he could no longer
fight the urge to leap into audiobook performance.

It's a supreme pleasure for Hannibal to bring good writing off the page and into the minds and
hearts of listeners. As a professional narrator, he devotes himself to understanding a text,
and giving a book life with his voice-in a way that creates true entertainment,
enlightenment, or merely an escape. Hannibal's vocal style is warm, clear, and sophisticated,
with a depth of emotion from connecting with each project he takes on. Although he
specializes in dramatic fiction, especially involving complex plots and highly charged
emotion, his nonfiction is performed in a way that brings the truth of the text to both the
heart and mind of the reader.
