Synopsis

The second audiobook in the New York Times bestselling Moonfall series from thriller-master James Rollins, The Cradle of Ice is a heart-pumping tale of action, adventure, betrayal, ambition, and the struggle for survival in a harsh world that hangs by a thread.

To stop the coming apocalypse, a fellowship was formed.

A soldier, a thief, a lost prince, and a young girl bonded by fate and looming disaster.

Each step along this path has changed the party, forging deep alliances and greater
enmities. All the while, hostile forces have hunted them, fearing what they might
unleash. Armies wage war around them.

For each step has come with a cost—in blood, in loss, in heartbreak.

Now, they must split, traveling into a vast region of ice and to a sprawling capital of the world they’ve only known in stories. Time is running out and only the truth will save us all.

About James Rollins

Veterinary Medicine is a very time consuming, stressful profession, especially for the owner of the veterinary practice. Author, James Rollins (aka James Paul Czajkowski) began his adult career with a DVM degree from the University of Missouri in 1985. He was then working as many as 18 hours a day, while writing on his lunch time, or any spare minutes he might find. For ten years he operated his practice, employing as many as 24 staff personnel, continuing to write during spare moments. One day, he decided to reverse the job and hobby routine. He began writing full time and spent a day or so per week volunteering to do neuter surgeries at the local SPCA.

Rollins began his storytelling very early as a child, so it came naturally to him by the time he made it his main career. His writing gives the reader a look into unseen worlds, mostly underground or underwater. His books are full of originality, scientific breakthroughs, as well as historical insight. All of this packed into a fast paced story line that is honed using his basic knowledge of science and medicine. That skill sets James Rollin's books apart from the others. He is a #1 New York Times bestselling author of international thrillers that are translated into over forty languages. His "Sigma" series is his most popular.

Wow! Those of us who read Rollins' previous fantasy series (under the name James Clemens) already knew what a gifted fantasy writer he was, but he's truly outdone himself with the Moonfall books. Yes, there's going to be at least one more, possibly more than one. If Rollins has mentioned at all how m......more

honestly i didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first. Rollins says in the acknowledgments at the end “a second journey is where you get to stray off the road and it’s easy to get lost “. he then thanks those who “kept him on track “. but they did not entirely succeed. fantasy writers can often get......more

*I was sent an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review* Have you ever given a book series a second chance? I’m not usually one for second chances, most of the time I have a hard time continuing a book series even if I really liked it. It’s just so hard to jump back into a complex......more

This ragtag group of misfits have decided to stick together for the sake of the world but it also means splitting up. Most will go to the region of ice and cold while the other to a big capital city. It is amazing what this group will do and go through for their world even when the rest of the world......more
