Synopsis

A stoner, an Instagram model, a Czech oligarch, and a missing unicorn. Nick Fox and Kate O'Hare have their work cut out for them in their weirdest, wildest adventure yet in this New York Times bestseller by Janet and Peter Evanovich.

Straight arrow FBI Agent Kate O'Hare always plays by the rules.  Charming Con Man Nicholas Fox makes them up as he goes along.  She thinks he's nothing but a scoundrel.  He thinks she just needs to lighten up.  They're working together to tackle the out-of-bounds cases ordinary FBI agents can't touch.  And, their relationship?  Well, there hasn't been so much explosive chemistry since Nitro was introduced to Glycerin.

Next on the docket: The mysterious disappearance of the Silicon Valley billionaire, known as the Big Kahuna.  Kate's been assigned to find him but no one seems particularly keen on helping.  His twenty-six year old adult actress wife-turned Instagram model wife and his shady Czech business partner are more interested in gaining control of his company.  For that they need a dead body not a living Kahuna.

The only lead they have is the Kahuna's drop-out son, who's living the dream in Hawaii - if your dream is starting your day with the perfect wave and ending it with a big bowl of weed.  To get close to the Kahuna's son, Kate and Nick go undercover as a married couple in the big wave, bohemian, surfer community of Paia, Maui.  Living a laid back, hippy-dippy lifestyle isn't exactly in Kate's wheelhouse, but the only thing more horrifying is setting up house with Nick Fox, even if he does look pretty gnarly on a longboard.  If they don't catch a break soon, waves aren't the only thing she's going to be shredding (or bedding).

About Janet Evanovich

Janet Evanovich was born Janet Schneider on April 22, 1943 in South River, New Jersey. She routinely appears on both the New York Times and Amazon Bestseller Lists and has a devoted following of readers. Using the pen name Steffie Hall, she published her several short romance novels. She later struck gold with her popular ‘Stephanie Plum’ Series – the twenty second book in the series, (‘Tricky Twenty Two’) will be released this November. After the third book in the series, Evanovich started running contests for her readers to suggest names for the next book. Each Plum book since that time has been named by a fan. The heroine, Stephanie Plum becomes a bounty hunter in her hometown of Trenton, New Jersey by bribing her pervert cousin Vinnie for a job after she is laid off as a lingerie buyer. Although there is plenty of romance and comedy in the books, they are primarily modern mysteries with an outrageous cast of secondary characters that add down to earth humor.

Evanovich became the first in her family to attend college. After graduating from South River High School she went on to attend Douglass College, part of Rutgers University. Janet Evanovich married her husband Pete in 1964. When she had her son, Peter and daughter, Alexandra, she decided to become a stay at home mom to raise her children. She first began writing in her thirties and had trouble publishing her first three manuscripts. Someone suggested she try writing romance novels. She had written two romance novels and still had not found anyone to publish them and became discouraged. She stopped writing and instead signed on with a temporary employment agency. After she worked there for several months, she received an offer to publish her second romance manuscript. She wrote and published multiple short romance novels before creating the world of Stephanie Plum. She has also written several other series, including the ‘Wicked’ Series, the ‘Alex Barnaby’ series, and the newer ‘Fox and O’Hare series featuring an FBI Agent and her partner, a notorious thief on the FBI’s Most Wanted List.

I have read every book in this series, and have a few questions, "what happened in the cliff hanger from book #5"? and...……….hasn't Nick and Kate's relationship progressed? This book felt like it should be #2 in the series and where was Nick's crew? Why was Cosmo added to the storyline? he was so an......more

WTF ..... this book, aghhhhh. I love Janet Evanovich but without Lee Goldberg, this is not the same, the characters are totally different, they are childish and stupid. I want my old Nick and Kate beck, I want the brilliant con and badass Jack. After so much wait, total disappointment. Three stars o......more

PLEASE BRING LEE GOLDBERG BACK TO WRITING THIS SERIES!!!!!!! I really loved the Fox and O'Hare series - even more than Stephanie Plum, until this book. Stephanie, oh wait, Kate is indecisive about who she should fall in love with - wait, there isn't a Morelli in this series. Adding in the Instagram M......more

3.5 Stars for The Big Kahuna: Fox and O’Hare, Book 6 (audiobook) Janet Evanovich and Peter Evanovich read by Scott Brick. I’m glad that this series is continuing. It was interesting having the story set in Hawaii with some crazy characters. This isn’t my favorite story of the series, hopefully Janet......more

I found this book to be one of the most disappointing things I have read in a long time. I enjoy the Fox and O’Hare series a great deal, the previous 5 books were great. However, this book is only a shell of the rest of the series. The Big Kahuna abandoned a some major plot points, character develop......more
