The Alchemist
H. P. Lovecraft's First Short Story

In 1908, 17-year-old H. P. Lovecraft wrote his very first short story, a creeping gothic tale of an Alchemist and his supernatural revenge against the dynasty of French aristocrats who wronged him. Many of the themes and motifs of his later fiction are present here, while his distinctive style had not yet fully evolved. It was first published in 1916. Narrated by Robin Reads.
