Synopsis

Before Emily Benson heads off to college in the fall, she'll be with six housemates in a summer share house on exclusive Ocean Island. She's excited about meeting her housemates and making some new friends.

For the first time in her life, eighteen-year-old Emily Benson will be on her own and she's looking forward to it. She's going to party until dawn, sleep until noon, sunbathe on the beach, snorkel, water ski, and do whatever she wants all summer long. It will be so great not to have any homework or rules. Maybe she'll even find a nice guy to hang out with . . .

But nothing goes as planned. Emily feels awkward silences when she's with her housemates, like they're leaving something unsaid, leaving her out of the conversation, and that gives her the creeps. Emily soon learns she looks just like a girl one of the guy housemates used to date—and that girl died in an accident—which maybe wasn't an accident.

Sick practical jokes start to happen. Someone locks Emily in the freezer.

Things get worse. Someone in the house wants Emily dead. One of Emily's housemates is a murderer.

Emily must get out of the house. Emily must get off Ocean Island alive.

Now.

About John Hall

John Hall can still remember the first book he ever read. It was Harry The Dirty Dog. Since that day, he's always loved reading. When he was in fifth grade, he decided he was going to be a writer when he grew up and wrote his first novel, The Mystery of the Leopard's Eyes (unfortunately, it was never published and to this day, still sits in his desk drawer). But years later he did become a published author and now is the author of over ten novels for adults and young adults, including Homecoming Queen, Is He or Isn't He?, and Summer Share. John grew up in Brooklyn and now lives in New York City.
