Synopsis

“One of today’s leading lights in romantic fiction.” —Seattle Times A classic tale of sensuous deception and bold new beginnings, from the remarkable New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas ""Lady Hawksworth, your husband is not dead . . ."" With these words, Lara's life is turned upside down. Her unhappy, loveless marriage had ended when the Earl of Hawksworth was lost at sea. But now a man stands before her, virile and powerful, who says he is her missing husband, revealing secrets that only he would know. While this dark-eyed stranger closely resembles the earl, he is as attentive and loving as Hunter was cruel and cold, promising to make Lara his wife once again in every way. With every beat of her heart, she aches to believe that this remarkable man is who he claims to be. But is he truly the rake returned and reformed . . . or is Lara being seduced by a cunning imposter?

About Lisa Kleypas

Lisa Kleypas, an American author, was born in 1964, and chose the genre of Historical Romantic Novels to begin her writing career. Even when her and her mother's Texas homes were taken by a devastating flood, they both went to buy the necessities, and for both of them that included a romance novel. After her graduation from Wellesley College in Political Science, Lisa published her first book at age 21. She has been very successful writing for Avon Books with her representative being the prestigious William Morris Agency.

Lisa has been writing full time since selling that first book at 21 years of age. She has sold millions of copies around the world, and has won many writing achievement awards over the years. One non-writing achievement came when she was Miss Massachusetts in the Miss America Pageant in 1985. At only 5'2", it was a challenge to wear a banner on which was printed one of the longest state names. She did win a "talented non-finalist" award for singing an original song.

Lisa decided in 2006 to temporarily change her writing genre to contemporary romance, but she did say she plans to return to historical romance in the future. Her list of published books keeps growing, with her 2012 book, "Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor" being made into the Hallmark movie, "Christmas With Holly". In 2015, she was given the honor of emceeing the Romance Writers of America Award Show. Lisa lives in Washington with her husband, Gregory, and their two children.

3 All for Hunter Stars All kinds of Spoilers and some ranting I love me some Lisa Kleypas. She is my go to for historical romance. When I see her books for sale, I always auto buy, but maybe I should have saved myself some serious anger and skipped this book. Let me just say that the plot of this......more

It pains me to give only 3 stars to a book with such a wonderful hero. Hunter is everything you could want. Loving, strong, patient and devoted to Lara. He longs for her tenderness and love, but she has none to give him. Lara is a cold heroine. Worse she is an annoying one. All right so you used to......more

5+ stars – Historical Romance This is a brilliant, poignant, and achingly romantic read with an element of mystery and suspense as well from the master of historical romance, Lisa Kleypas. Hunter, the Earl of Hawksworth, is a captivating, tortured hero to die for that you can’t help but fall hard for......more

Whenever I pick up a romance I normally won’t judge harshly on the plot as long as it’s not too unreasonable (I mean, I pick up romance because I want romance, totally logical, right?). So it’s perfectly ok for me if the book has some loopholes or unrealistic plots, I’m able to ignore it if the char......more
