I,too was disappointed in the final book of the Bastian Club series. The suspense was sorely missing, but I found fault with the romantic part, too. The heroine started as an interesting character, but devolved into a simpering wimp who totally subjugated herself to the hero. He was arrogant and overbearing, despite constant ***urances that he wasnt nearly as bad as his father had been. Sorry, not good enough. While claiming to love the heroine as she was, he was determined to ruin her and break her spirit before letting her know that. I know people actually do such things, but I cant approve. Too bad. All in all, it was a pretty good series: far superior to those annoying Cynsters

It ended up being nothing like I thought it would be and nowhere near as engaging as the past book in the series. Series note: I hesitate to say that......more

Why and how he became a 'shadow' in society and head of the British spies makes for a wonderful read and the woman he falls for is not at all what he......more
