Synopsis

Wouldn't you know it, right when the trusty Time Warp Trio is about to go on stage in the school play, the script gets knocked into The Book, and Joe, Fred, and Sam come face to face with Cerberus, the mythological three-headed dog of Hades. And the drooling guard dog isn't the worst of their problems: The guys have landed smack in the middle of a feud between the gods of Ancient Greece and some really ugly monsters. To keep their odyssey from becoming a Greek tragedy, the gang needs to find The Book, and fast!

About The Author

Multiple award-winning author Jon Scieszka grew up in Flint, Michigan, the second oldest and the nicest of six boys. Jon went to school at Culver Military Academy in Indiana where he was a Lieutenant; Albion College in Michigan where he studied to be a doctor; and Columbia University in New York, where he received an M.F.A. in fiction. He taught elementary school in New York for ten years in a variety of positions. He is the author of many books for children including the New York Times Best Illustrated Book The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales (illustrated by Lane Smith), the Caldecott Honor book The True Story of the Three Little Pigs (illustrated by Lane Smith), and Math Curse (illustrated by Lane Smith).  In addition to his work as an author, Jon also runs a web-based literacy program called “Guys Read” that is designed to encourage boys, particularly reluctant readers, to get involved with books. In 2008, Jon was named the country’s first National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, a joint effort of the Library of Congress and the Children’s Book Council. During his two-year role as Ambassador, he acted as a spokesperson for children’s literature, speaking to groups of parents, teachers, and children to encourage the importance of reading. I recommend this series to reluctant readers who are looking for something quick, but fun. I've had boys and girls read through the entire series. As an adult, I thought they were just okay. I do like that they introduce students to famous historical figures and time periods.......more

I enjoy reading a good YA book alongside whatever else I am reading, this just wasn't one of them. It isn't terrible but the actual story itself is really thin and weak even for the target audience. Centering around Greek mythology and paralleling their own school play on the same topic it is a good......more

The Time Warp Trio are 3 elementary school aged boys who travel into history, books, or, in this case, mythology by means of a magic book. This series is a great one for 8-10 year old boys with its focus on humor and adventure, but it also appealed to my eight-year-old daughter. These books are a go......more

The big HA , HA again . Which is the usual for this author . This time the three time travelers are stuck on Mount Olympus telling jokes to the Greek gods and goddesses to stall from being killed . And as usual Joe's blue time warp book can't be found . The mount Olympus group is attacked by Typhon ,......more
