Synopsis

This enchanting book is an international best-seller. City folk Rosie and her boyfriend have always dreamt of a countryside cottage. The nouveaux-riche Samantha and Guy are also seeking rural bliss: a mansion with a mile long drive and a team of gardeners. The village of Eight Mile Bottom seems the idyllic hide-away for them. But as dreams become reality, they soon realise that village life can be far from peaceful.

While I was able to follow along with most of the cultural references, I did just assume some of them were funny......more

This tale of city folk moving to the country with romantic notions about a better life is an absolute hoot from start to finish, and somehow we come to feel affection for the target......more
