I haven't kept up with Deere since reading his "Surprised by the Power of the Spirit" in my early twenties, but even those who had likely had no idea the turmoil going on behind the public ministry. This is possibly the most honest and genuine story I have ever read. Deere hides nothing of himself in telling this story. His vulnerability is deeply gripping, and almost infectious.
