Synopsis

Diana Gabaldon’s fans will be delighted to find Jamie and Claire as spirited and endearing as ever in this fourth installment of this magnificent saga. Romance, history, and time travel blend once again as the couple builds a new life together in the wilderness of pre–Revolutionary America.

Twice Claire has used an ancient stone circle to travel back to the 18th century.

The first time she found love with a Scottish warrior but had to return to the 1940s to save their unborn child. The second time, twenty years later, she reunited with her lost love but had to leave behind the daughter that he would never see. Now Brianna, from her 1960s vantage point, has found a disturbing
obituary and will risk everything in an attempt to change history.

About Diana Gabaldon

American author, Diana J. Gabaldon, grew up in Flagstaff Arizona, where her father, Tony Gabaldon, served as an Arizona State Senator for sixteen years. Author Gabaldon received degrees from Northern Arizona University, and the University of California. Her degrees were centered around Zoology and Marine Biology. She worked in the field of her degrees for several years, then decided to just try her hand at writing a novel.

Gabaldon did research for her "practice novel" the old fashioned way, through reference books and periodicals......to quote her, "the Worldwide Web did not exist back then". After posting a short excerpt of her book on CompuServe Literary Forum, an author introduced her to a literary agent. He accepted the representation of this new author based on an unfinished first novel, which she had entitled Cross Stitch. U. S. publishers changed that first book in a trilogy (that was required by contract) to Outlander.

In 2014, the Outlander series was comprised of eight published novels. In August of 2014, the Outlander tv series premiered on Starz in the U.S.

It started out wonderfully, and I will always consider the first, Outlander, to be one of my favorite books of all time. Unfortunately, Gabaldon just couldn't seem to keep her mojo working. At least, not for me. I end......more

The universe had shifted, with a small, decisive click; he could still hear its echo in his bones." This was already the fourth book of the “Outlander series” and since I didn’t write reviews about the other books I just decided to type one of my “What I liked” and “What I didn’t like” reviews. First......more
