P. G. Wodehouse (1881–1975) was an English humorist who wrote novels, short stories, plays, poems, song lyrics, and numerous pieces of journalism. He is best known for his stories of Bertie Wooster and his servant Jeeves and for his settings of English upper-class society of the pre– and post–World War I era.
Paul Shelley trained at RADA and has mainly worked in the theater as a classical actor. He has worked extensively with the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company and has appeared in several West End productions. His work for television includes Secret Army, Special Branch, Blake’s 7, A Tale of Two Cities, Doctor Who, Inspector Morse, and Crossroads.
A lovely amusing novella. Short but sweet. Bill, Lottie, Dr Sally, Lord Emworth and the aged uncle Hugh. Misunderstandings, farce and a few chuckles along the way. A superb PG Wodehouse story where aged golfer Sir Hugo Drake falls for the shot-making abilities of a beautiful woman doctor called, you've guessed it, Dr Sally Smith. The thing is his good-for-nothing nephew Bill Bannister falls for her too, but not for golfing reasons, whilst intending to ask Mrs......more
What an absolute delight to pick up a book, get straight into the storyline with amusing characters and not be able to put the book down until it is finished; it does not happen very often but 'Doctor Sally' is definitely one of those books! In true PG tradition there are romantic interludes with the......more

“A brilliantly funny writer—perhaps the most consistently funny the English language has yet produced.” Times (London)
