When their paths cross again, he knows she can identify him, and that he must kill again.The Silvertown explosion sets off a lethal chain of events and the action moves to Gretna Munitions Factory on the border between England and Scotland. Kirsty Campbell, a policewoman in the newly set up women’s police service joins forces with a Belgian refugee working for MI5, and together they set out to protect Sally, a young munitionette who witnessed the aftermath of a murder at Silvertown. They become embroiled with saboteurs, Irish revolutionaries, a German spy, a killer without a conscience, and a plot to assassinate the king. As the body count rises, the stakes are higher than Kirsty could ever have imagined.
