Dear Enemy is the 1915 sequel to Daddy-Long-Legs, a delightful if slightly flawed 1912 book. This book is, sadly, much more flawed, because of a running discussion of eugenics that probably seemed exciting and timely when this book was written but now comes across as, at best, wincingly dated. Eugenics, oh dear, oh dear. This book has all sorts of dodgy stuff in that can be overlooked a bit - but not completely! - by always keeping the mantra, "This was written almost a hundred years ago," going in your head while you're reading. I would give it five stars - on the whole, I like this one......more
