Synopsis

SOON TO BE A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE • From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sophie Kinsella, a novel with the same wicked humor, buoyant charm, and optimism as her beloved Shopaholic series.

Meet Emma Corrigan, a young woman with a huge heart, an irrepressible spirit, and a few little secrets:

Secrets from her boyfriend: I’ve always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken.

Secrets from her mother: I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom with Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben-Hur.

Secrets she wouldn’t share with anyone in the world: I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even what it is.

Until she spills them all to a handsome stranger on a plane. At least, she thought he was a stranger. . . .

But come Monday morning, Emma’s office is abuzz about the arrival of Jack Harper, the company’s elusive CEO.  Suddenly Emma is face-to-face with the stranger from the plane, a man who knows every single humiliating detail about her. Things couldn’t possibly get worse. Or could they?

Author Bio

I think I could have written a series of books on being a Shopaholic, but British author Sophie Kinsella had beat me to it. In 2000, she had her big hit novel, the first in the Shopaholic series.....The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic. The great irony is that the book's main character is Becky Bloomwood, who is a financial journalist who should be giving sensible money spending and saving advice. However, she loves to shop, and is hopeless with money! It struck a nerve with many readers around the world. The other books in the series are: Shopaholic Abroad (Shopaholic Takes Manhattan), Shopaholic Ties the Knot, Shopaholic and Sister, Shopaholic and Baby, Mini Shopaholic, Shopaholic to the Stars, and Shopaholic to the Rescue. Her first novel in the series was produced as a movie by Disney as, Confessions
of a Shopaholic.

Other books she has written include: Can You Keep a Secret?, The Undomestic Goddess, Remember Me?, Twenties Girl, I've Got Your Number, Wedding Night, My Not So Perfect Life, and Surprise Me. Her latest work is I Owe You, which is described as being empowering.

Sophie lives in London with her husband, Henry Wickham, four sons and a daughter.

good plot twists on this one... and not your typical thing that you think's going to happen, which is nice. Good romance story though.

This is one of my favorite books!!! It is so funny and easy to read. I laughed out loud, which is why I'm sure my neighbors think I'm crazy, as I was all alone at the time.

i like to read chick lit sometimes, and sophie the author of the shopaholic series is one of the best for this genre. an interesting, funny, fast read about a woman who talked too much and could have gotten herself into trouble, but instead gets herself into real life.

I like Sophie Kinsella and her books always seem to keep me laughing. There are times when the characters can get a big grating, but then you tend to realize that as in real life, not everyone is perfect and it puts you back on track. This is a great read for anyone who needs to laugh out loud and escape for just a few hours.
