Synopsis

The electrifying conclusion to the instant New York Times and #1 internationally bestselling A Language of Dragons trilogy—perfect for fans of Fourth Wing and Divine Rivals.Vivian has been reunited with her fellow rebels, but the world is more fractured than ever. With the Bolgorith occupation tightening its grip on London and dragon-kind at war with itself, Viv knows this fight won't end with weapons alone. As Viv is drawn deeper into the enemy's court and the line between adversary and ally grows thin, she must hold on to the belief that somewhere in the smoke and ruins, the country she loves is still worth saving—and so is she. What to expect:
Dragons galore: From brutal, vain Bulgarian Bolgoriths to stuffy Hebridean Wyverns, dragon-kind in this series is as politically fractured and fascinatingly varied as the humans fighting alongside and against them.Star-crossed lovers: Vivien and Atlas have found love in the midst of war, but it is put to the ultimate test as the fighting reaches its peak.Alternative historical London setting: Set in a 1923 London under occupation, the series reimagines the world wars as conflicts between humans and rebellious dragons.Found family pushed to its breaking point: The relationships Viv has built across the trilogy with her fellow rebels are pushed to their limits as war forces impossible choices about who to protect and what to sacrifice. The power of language: Inspired by author S. F. Williamson's own work as a literary translator, the series treats language itself as a form of power: the ability to be understood, to deceive, and to find common ground across an impossible divide.

About S. F. Williamson

S. F. Williamson is the author of A Language of Dragons and A War of Wyverns. She is fascinated by the way languages are born and was surrounded by them long before she undertook degrees in French and Italian. She has always known that languages are creatures that live and move and breathe, and as a child she learned that speaking them meant accessing ideas, traditions, and people she would only otherwise know from a distance. She is inspired by her work as a literary translator and the fact that no matter how intimately a linguist knows their languages, some meaning is almost always lost in translation. A graduate of Bath Spa University’s MA writing for young people program, Steph now lives in France with her husband and children.
