Synopsis

Even more of a good thing: the latest collection of knee-slappers, toe-tappers, and groaners from A Prairie Home Companion Joke Shows.

"What does IDK stand for?" "I don't know." "OMG, nobody does!" . . . What is a hippie's wife called? Mississippi . . . What is the recipe for Honeymoon Salad? Lettuce alone without dressing."

Jokes are made for sharing, and everyone loves to laugh. This nonstop collection gathers the best jokes from the most recent Joke Show (11/4/2014) plus special joke segments from 2011 to the present, all recorded before live before doubled-over audiences in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and New York . . . Performers include show regulars—Garrison Keillor, Sue Scott, Tim Russell, Tom Keith, and Richard Dworsky—along with special guests. There's music from the Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, a bucketful of Halloween jokes, a musical tribute to bad jokes, a celebration of Jewish Jokes from New York radio legend Larry Josephson, Ole and Lena jokes, a Guy Noir sketch, Dusty and Lefty, and of course, even more jokes.

Nothing like hearing jokes told aloud--in this case before an audience. Keillor turns over his Prairie Home Companion radio show to jokes every year, and this recording features excerpts from the program in 2011 and 2014. In addition to the often very bad jokes, some submitted by listeners, there ar......more

This audio CD is excellent! I totally enjoyed listening to it and totally enjoyed driving my family crazy by repeating all the jokes these past two days! My sense of humor has always been a bit quirky, so this CD was a perfect fit. I would recommend it to anyone. Won from Goodreads......more

This shouldn't even count as a 'read'. Just some good clean fun from Garrison and friends. Listened to it for nostalgia's sake, missing the old PHC show. It's a bit over an hour long, full of corny jokes, but a lot of them will make you smile or crack up. Some are groaners - intentionally so. Blonde......more

I received this volume as a present despite not being a follower of "Prairie Home Companion", so I must review this on its own merits. Some very funny jokes in this volume, but also a lot of jokes that are old, off-color, putdowns, or only make sense to a small group of people, such as jokes comparin......more
