Synopsis

When sixteen-year-old Macie O'Sullivan and her masterfully manipulative mother Aubra arrive at the gates of Witchtown - the most famous and mysterious witch-only haven in the world - they have one goal in mind: to rob it for all it's worth. But that plan derails when Macie and Aubra start to dig into Witchtown's history and uncover that there is more to the quirky haven than meets the eye. In fact, while exploring the haven by herself, Macie finds that secrets may be worth more than money in Witchtown.

About Cory Putman Oakes

Cory Putman Oakes, a graduate of UCLA and Cornell Law School, lives in Austin, Texas with her family. Before becoming an author, she worked as a law associate and taught at Texas State University. This was all after she had to face the sad truth that being a heroine in a Madeleine L'Engle book wasn't going to happen. Since then, she's realized that writing books might be the best alternative to living in them. For more information, visit at corypoakes.com.

"Welcome home!" she said grandly. I managed only a weak smile in return. Because I knew that we hadn't come to make Witchtown our home. We had come to rob it. * * * 3 / 5 Perhaps suprisingly, I didn’t pick up Witchtown because of the witches but because it promised a heist: a mother and daughter rock u......more

I think Witchtown would appeal to both young adult readers as well as middle grade readers. It is young adult, but it is on the younger end......more
