Betty Smith (1896–1972) was a native of Brooklyn, New York. Her novels A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Tomorrow Will Be Better, Joy in the Morning, and Maggie-Now continue to capture the hearts and imaginations of millions of readers worldwide.
Kate Burton has made numerous stage, film, and television appearances, and was seen on Broadway most recently in Hedda Gabler and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. She played the title role in Alice in Wonderland with her father, Richard Burton, on PBS.
Loved it from page 1 Slow paced and really descriptive but I loved it. I really enjoyed learning about life back then for the Nolans Highs and lows of life and daily experience I was so emotionally attached to Francie. She was a brillant character and I loved her to pieces......more
