Synopsis

Two journalists on a cross-country journey to capture the perfect image of the American spirit spend One Summer bringing their hearts into focus in this passionate novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts. There’s no summer getaway for Celebrity magazine photographer Bryan Mitchell this year. Instead she’ll be spending three months on the road with renowned photojournalist Shade Colby. Their assignment is a nationwide photo shoot, taking candid snapshots of a summer in America for a beautiful coffee table book. But Bryan’s family fun in the sun moments contrasts with Shade’s portraits revealing the dark side of touristy vacations. Unable to agree on whose pictures best represent their project’s ideal, or anything else, Bryan and Shade discover something extraordinary when they come out from behind their cameras to truly see one another—two people longing for truth and beauty, hoping to share their vision of love.

About Nora Roberts

Author, Nora Roberts was born Eleanor Marie Robertson, on October 10, 1950 in Silver Spring, Maryland. For more than three decades Roberts has published more than 200 titles in the romantic novel category. She wrote her first story during the blizzard of 1979, when she was snowed in at her home. The first novel, Irish Thoroughbred, was published just two years later. Then, the next two years brought 23 more published novels, and she finally caught the public's eye in 1985. That last novel, "Playing the Odds" gave Roberts a "fan favorite" status and transformed the romance novel category.

Roberts has two sons by her first marriage, and married her second husband, Bruce Wilder, in 1985. From 1991 to 2001, all 68 novels she published made it onto the New York Times best seller list. In 2000 alone she had 13 best sellers, several making it into number one. She also writes futuristic romantic suspense under the pen name of J.D. Robb. Many of her novels have been adapted into TV movies. She was inducted into the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame on 1986. She currently owns the Inn at BoonsBoro in Boonsboro, Maryland. The suites are each inspired by and for romantic couples from books. FYI......she has a fear of flying and is an ardent baseball fan.

I haven't even read this recently but I have been thinking so much about this book recently when trying to find a romance that I don't experience as cheesy, emotionally vapid, and problematic. I read this combo book when I was in high school, and my mom was obsessed with Nora Roberts so I got a few......more

Both books in this edition are about the creative process, the first about writing and the second about photography. Although I found both interesting, the description of the terrain, the unbelievably beautiful parts of our country that Ms. Roberts captures so tellingly, was what caught and held my......more

Meine Meinung: Nora Roberts ist......more
