Jules Verne (1828-1905) was a French poet, novelist, and playwright. He has been called the "Father of Science Fiction" and in addition to this prestigious title, he has been the second most-translated author in the world since 1979, ranking between Agatha Christie and William Shakespeare. His popular titles are Journey to the Center of the Earth, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, and Around the World in Eighty Days.
David Linski (a.k.a. David Ligudzinski and David Atlas) is a graduate of the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, Australia. He has numerous voice-over credits, an extensive theatrical résumé, and has starred in short and feature films both in the United States and Australia.

When he and two of his companions discover the Nautilus - a magnificent submarine owned by the uncompromising Captain Nemo – their jour......more
I did enjoy this but you could definitely tell it was written in the 19th century during an age of colonialism. Some of the chapters were difficult to read because of the incredibly dated and exclusivist language. Though, for this reason, it was also quite interesting to read critically.......more
“20,000 Leagues under the Sea is arguably Verne’s masterpiece. As a classic it has aged wonderfully well: it is escapist fun, but still retains its literary and scientific significance. To dismiss it as simply an adventure story does it a disservice.” Guardian (London)
