Synopsis

Does the Bible feel confusing and complicated to you? Perhaps some of it feels familiar, but overall, does it feel impossible to navigate? Maybe you recognize the stories, but you just don’t know how they all fit together.    Yet they do fit together.  In her unique and remarkably readable way, Angie Smith—bestselling author of What Women Fear, Mended, I Will Carry You, and Seamless—helps you tie together all the loose, disconnected threads you find in the Bible, weaving them into a beautifully crafted storyline. After reading Woven, when it comes to reading Scripture, you’ll go: From confused to confident From lost to knowledgeable From separate stories to the One they are all about Because once you see the big picture, you’ll see it on every page. Every time.

The Word of God is so rich — and it’s woven together seamlessly. I remember the first time I realized the Old Testament talked about Jesus — that Jesus, my Jesus — and how it all seemed to click. It’s ONE story. Angie Smith tells that story in fast-forward with her signature sarcastic style (which m......more

Thoughts: When I first started reading, my initial thoughts were that the writing was super casual & there were way too many unnecessary side comments, which distracted me from the content. But as I progressed further, I don’t know whether my tolerance increased, or I started to skip over the side c......more

This book took any remaining jumbled fragments of what I’ve always known about the Scriptures and seamlessly (ha) sorted through them, piece by piece. Smith’s writing style is engaging and lighthearted, which was so refreshing for this type of read. She gives solid contextual/historical background t......more
