Synopsis

AN ALL-NEW UNABRIDGED RECORDING NARRATED BY LORELEI KING!

From #1 New York Times bestselling author of Dirty Thirty and “most popular mystery writer alive” (The New York Times), Janet Evanovich’s Two for the Dough is irresistibly fun and powerful suspense entertainment featuring beloved bounty hunter Stephanie Plum.

It's the return of Stephanie Plum, New Jersey’s “fugitive apprehension” agent (a.k.a. bounty hunter), introduced to us in the award-winning and bestselling novel One for the Money.

Now Stephanie's back, armed with attitude—not to mention stun guns, defense sprays, killer flashlights, and her trusty .38, Stephanie is after a new bail jumper, Kenny Mancuso, a boy from Trenton’s burg. He’s fresh out of the army, suspiciously wealthy, and he’s just shot his best friend.

With her bounty hunter pal Ranger stepping in occasionally to advise her, Stephanie staggers knee-deep in corpses and caskets as she traipses through back streets, dark alleys, and funeral parlors.

And nobody knows funeral parlors better than Stephanie's irrepressible Grandma Mazur, a lady whose favorite pastime is grabbing a front-row seat at a neighborhood wake. So, Stephanie uses Grandma as a cover to follow leads, but loses control when Grandma warms to the action, packing a cool pistol. Much to the family’s chagrin, Stephanie and Granny may soon have the elusive Kenny in their sights.

Fast-talking, slow-handed vice cop Joe Morelli joins in the case, since the prey happens to be his young cousin. And if the assignment calls for an automobile stakeout for two with the woman who puts his libido in overdrive, Morelli’s not one to object.

Low on expertise but learning fast, high on resilience, and despite the help she gets from friends and relatives, Stephanie eventually must face the danger alone when embalmed body parts begin to arrive on her doorstep and she’s targeted for a nasty death by the most loathsome adversary she's ever encountered. Another case like this and she'll be a real pro.

About Janet Evanovich

Janet Evanovich was born Janet Schneider on April 22, 1943 in South River, New Jersey. She routinely appears on both the New York Times and Amazon Bestseller Lists and has a devoted following of readers. Using the pen name Steffie Hall, she published her several short romance novels. She later struck gold with her popular ‘Stephanie Plum’ Series – the twenty second book in the series, (‘Tricky Twenty Two’) will be released this November. After the third book in the series, Evanovich started running contests for her readers to suggest names for the next book. Each Plum book since that time has been named by a fan. The heroine, Stephanie Plum becomes a bounty hunter in her hometown of Trenton, New Jersey by bribing her pervert cousin Vinnie for a job after she is laid off as a lingerie buyer. Although there is plenty of romance and comedy in the books, they are primarily modern mysteries with an outrageous cast of secondary characters that add down to earth humor.

Evanovich became the first in her family to attend college. After graduating from South River High School she went on to attend Douglass College, part of Rutgers University. Janet Evanovich married her husband Pete in 1964. When she had her son, Peter and daughter, Alexandra, she decided to become a stay at home mom to raise her children. She first began writing in her thirties and had trouble publishing her first three manuscripts. Someone suggested she try writing romance novels. She had written two romance novels and still had not found anyone to publish them and became discouraged. She stopped writing and instead signed on with a temporary employment agency. After she worked there for several months, she received an offer to publish her second romance manuscript. She wrote and published multiple short romance novels before creating the world of Stephanie Plum. She has also written several other series, including the ‘Wicked’ Series, the ‘Alex Barnaby’ series, and the newer ‘Fox and O’Hare series featuring an FBI Agent and her partner, a notorious thief on the FBI’s Most Wanted List.

I love this book! One for the Money, as great as this series is, really didn’t show you the potential of laughter to come. Two for the Dough changes everything! The relationship between Stephanie and Morelli will leave you smiling. All of the wonderful little things in a relationship that bugs you,......more

These books are quick and pretty fun. Sure there is the Scooby doo type mystery afoot in them but I find I’m more drawn to the personal interactions of the characters and the kooky stuff that happens along the way such as: --- How much trouble a grandma cause at not just one but multiple viewings. Gr......more

Review 3 stars to book #2 in the Stephanie Plum mystery series, Two for the Dough, by Janet Evanovich. Since I'm going back to complete reviews on all the books I've read, and there are over 20 in this series, it would be too boring to do a normal review... so I'll keep it short. A few fu......more

Not quite as good as the first one, but definitely fun! "Sweetie, you are the worst bounty hunter in the history of the world." This is true. Stephanie has settled into her life as a bounty hunter, but that doesn't mean she is necessarily good at it. She blunders her way through things, annoying t......more
