Synopsis

“Morgan Rice's imagination is limitless. In another series that promises to be as entertaining as the previous ones, A THRONE OF SISTERS presents us with the tale of two sisters (Sophia and Kate), orphans, fighting to survive in a cruel and demanding world of an orphanage. An instant success. I can hardly wait to put my hands on the second and third books!” --Books and Movie Reviews (Roberto Mattos) From USA Today and #1 bestseller Morgan Rice, author of A Quest of Heroes (over 1,300 five star reviews) comes an unforgettable fantasy series. A THRONE FOR SISTERS tells the epic story of two sisters. Sophia, 17, and her younger sister Kate, 15, are desperate to leave their horrific orphanage. Orphans, unwanted and unloved, they nonetheless dream of coming of age elsewhere, of finding a better life, even if that means living on the streets of the brutal city of Ashton. Sophia and Kate, also best friends, have each other’s backs—and yet they want different things from life. Sophia dreams of falling in love with a noble at court, while Kate, a fighter, dreams of mastering the sword, and of becoming a warrior. They are both united, though, by their shared, hidden power to read other’s minds, their only saving grace in a world that seems bent to destroy them. As they each embark on a quest and adventure their own ways, they struggle to survive. Faced with choices neither can imagine, their choices may propel them to the highest power—or plunge them to the lowest depths. A THRONE FOR SISTERS is a dazzling new fantasy series rife with love, heartbreak, betrayal, tragedy, magic and heart-pounding suspense. A riveting page turner, it is filled with characters that will make you fall in love, and a world you will never forget. “[A THRONE FOR SISTERS is a] powerful opener to a series [that] will produce a combination of feisty protagonists and challenging circumstances to thoroughly involve not just young adults, but adult fantasy fans who seek epic stories fueled by powerful friendships and adversaries.” --Midwest Book Review (Diane Donovan)

ENGLISH: Very good historical review of the five great heresies against the Catholic Church along its history: 1. Arianism, taken as a typical heresy of the first centuries that denied one or two important Catholic beliefs but kept the others. 2. Islam, which started as a simplification of Catholic te......more

Another eye opening history from a very readable writer. Hilaire Belloc was half English, half French, a one time MP and a prolific writer known as "the man who wrote a library". Fortunately he did so in small volumes often broken down into self-contained chapters or essays, and wrote them very well......more

I wanted to like this book, but sadly Belloch climbs his high horse in the introduction, and never quite makes up for it throughout the book. It is also a weird book, I’m not exactly sure who it’s for. It reads like apologetics, with simplified arguments, relying heavily on cheap rhetoric like repea......more

I've read a good amount of Belloc but this is my favorite by far. His exploration of the various heresies - Arian, Albengensian, Islam, Protestantism, etc is greatly insightful. Especially his chapter on Islam where he predicts Islam coming back as a power. It is fascinating to read what he writes a......more

Joseph Hilaire Pierre René Belloc (27 July 1870– 16 July 1953) was an Anglo-French writer and historian. His Catholic faith had a strong impact on his works. I am a Catholic and am interested in learning more about my faith. Belloc started by describing terms. Heresy is defined as 'the dislocation of......more
