Synopsis

For readers of Finlay Donovan is Killing It and The Bandit Queens comes a bright and biting thriller following Cordelia Black, a best friend, a businesswoman, and, in her spare time, a killer of bad men. Ask Cordelia Black why she did it. The answer will always be: he had it coming. Cordelia Black loves exactly three things: her chosen family, her hairdresser (worth every penny plus tip), and killing bad men. By day she's an ambitious pharma rep with a flawless reputation and designer wardrobe. By night, she culls South Louisiana of unscrupulous men?monsters who think they've evaded justice, until they meet her. Sure, the evening news may have started throwing around phrases like serial killer, but Cordelia knows that's absurd. She's not a killer, she is simply karma. And being karma requires complete and utter control. But when Cordelia discovers a flaw in her perfectly designed system for eliminating monsters, pressure heightens. And it only intensifies when her best friend starts dating a man Cordelia isn't sure is a good person. Someone who might just unravel everything she has worked for. Soon enough Cordelia has to come face to face with the choices she's made. The good, the bad, and the murderous. Both her family, and her freedom, depend on it.

About Emma C. Wells

Emma C. Wells loves anti-heroes, dark humor, witty banter, and ride-or-die friendships. Twisty relationships are her kryptonite (or catnip—depending on how you look at it) and her favorite characters are often called unlikable (but at least they're never boring). Emma enjoys camping, yoga, researching spooky folklore, and collecting copies of Wuthering Heights from used bookstores. Vigilante or serial killer? Either way, I’d invite Cordelia Black to brunch. Cordelia is no ordinary killer. Her hit list only includes rapists, child abusers, women beaters, the occasional murderer. Your average jerk has nothing to fear. Think Dexter, but with manicured nails, a sharper tongue, and......more

This masterpiece deserves 5 stars and more! I can't believe it's a debut book and I'm totally obsessed with it! Meet Cordelia Black who is not your average leading lady, oh definitively not! By day, she's owning it in her career as a pharma rep, but when night falls, she transforms into this badass a......more

A deliciously unhinged, somewhat satirical take on a serial killer plot, This Girl’s a Killer evoked a slightly milder Dexter down to its core. The best two pieces of this one, however? Those were easily the giggle-worthy dark humor and Cordelia herself. Between her perfectly crafted evil yet root-f......more

A female dexter and a diva? 🔪🙋🏼‍♀️ Say less, this was such a fun read — if you support women's wrongs, this one is for you! The premise of this book instantly captivated me from the outset. It's packed full of drama and humour. Cordila black is the female Luigi — she utilises violence to rectify soci......more

I generally love a vigilante lady but very much did not love Cordelia. She spends half of the book talking about how meticulous and controlled she is and the other half of the book trying to clean up her impulsive, chaotic mistakes. There were some funny lines here and there, and some vaguely slapst......more
