Worst Max Brand book I've ever read. Incredibly different story presented on the back cover than the one within the pages of the book. I was expecting a rip roarin' Western about a dog breeding gunslinger, but instead got a weird mixture of White Fang and Redwall.......more

If you like classic animal stories you will like this one for sure. This one is very formal in its tail it is one of the few books I have read with animal dialogue. Remember this was written in 1926 so perhaps the style is more stilted. But I have read other Max brand books and so I don't remember t......more

It took me a while to get through this book as there are many scenes where I feel the author is too long winded. I do think this book is good for the time it was written and it is an interesting plot and has an enjoyable ending that partially redeems it.......more
