I'd call this more of a locked room mystery than an isolated closed circle, but it definitely has some of the same charms as that kind of story and it certainly is a country house mystery. Maybe 2 1/2 stars for the 1920s setting. Like some other reviewers I’m glad Milne went on to write Winnie the Pooh. Detective fiction was not his strength.
