I would say that the book delivers on what it promises. It's short, not particularly detailed, there are no analysis, opinions or discussions. But it provides an entertaining overview of the Qing dynasty. So it got me everything I would want from such a book - I read it in two days (which is faster......more

Glad I found this to get a broad idea of the Qing Dynasty. The book focuses a lot on politics and the figures in power and I learned some interesting things, though some parts felt more like a summary of war events, where I wished it would focus more on motivations and causes. ......more
