Synopsis

An epic journey across dangerous seas, strange lands, and the limits of endurance, Homer's The Odyssey follows the long and perilous return of Odysseus after the Trojan War. Facing storms, monsters, enchantresses, and the constant pull of fate, he struggles to make his way back to his homeland and the family he has not seen for years.

Along the way, the story moves between adventure and reflection, showing not just physical survival, but cunning, patience, and the cost of pride. Gods interfere, loyalties are tested, and time itself becomes an obstacle. As an audiobook form, the tale takes on a powerful, almost mythic rhythm, drawing the listener into a world where every trial feels immediate and every victory is hard-earned.

About Homer

Homer is a legendary ancient Greek poet, traditionally said to be the author of the epic poems the Iliad and the Odyssey. The ancient Greeks generally believed that Homer was a historical individual, but modern scholars are skeptical: no reliable biographical information has been handed down from classical antiquity, and the poems themselves manifestly represent the culmination of many centuries of oral storytelling and a well-developed "formulaic" system of poetic composition. It has been suggested that "Homer" is "not the name of a historical poet, but a fictitious or constructed name."
