The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is such a book -- a #1 bestseller celebrated at once for its artistry, its luminous clarity of emotion, and its astonishing power to lay claim to the hearts of millions of readers around the world. My name was Salmon, like the fish; first name, Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973. So begins the story of Susie Salmon, who is adjusting to her new home in heaven, a place that is not at all what she expected, even as she is watching life on earth continue without her -- her friends trading rumors about her disappearance, her killer trying to cover his tracks, her grief-stricken family unraveling. Out of unspeakable tragedy and loss, The Lovely Bones audiobook download succeeds, miraculously, in building a tale filled with hope, humor, suspense, and joy.

the concept of the story was interestingbeing told through the little girl's point of view but it wasn't believable.

A haunting tale that took an unbelieveable turn near the end. I enjoyed this book but felt it could have been so much better.

this book I felt was very well written and very believable, so much so in fact that I cried through alot of the chapters. The author knew what she was doing when she wrote it from a child's point of view.

This was a quick easy read. It definitely holds the readers interest even though the author's idea of heaven is completely ridiculous and Biblically off the mark, but this IS a fictional book not a devotional! :- Try it..you'll finish it in a day or two.

I picked this book up on a whim to read while on vacation a couple weeks ago and boy am I glad I did. I'm usually a horror/thriller type of reader but this caught my interest. What I liked about it was the different perspectives of not only being told through a 14 year olds eyes but also the view on her heaven and how she still yearned for her family and friends and all the things she missed out on. She was brutally murdered but it's not about her revenge on her murderer but more about helping her father find some peace with it all and watching them grieve and love and age. I'll definitely have to check some more of this author's work out and see if they all can touch me like this book did.
