Synopsis

She''d resolved to ""act more sophisticated"" and ""get out more."" But the rumpled bedding, the coffee brewed by other hands and The Note reminded Rachel Harper that she''d done something completely out of character. She''d brought a man home from a bar.

And apparently made a baby.

She''d been nervous to tell Carter Brockett the news. Oh, she felt strangely safe with him despite his dangerous looks. Worse, she liked him. But what must he think of the naive schoolteacher who''d lost control and gotten herself knocked up? After all, the man had a legion of exes who''d been unable to snare a commitment, and here she had a forever-binding one!

Then she remembered. He''d lost control, too….

About Susan Mallery

Author Susan Mallery is a New York Times best-selling author, and has written more than 80 Harlequin and Silhouette romance books, and a number of full-length romance novels. Unbelievably, she began writing in this genre after taking a class offered st a local community center entitled, "How to Write a Romance Novel". It seems almost too simplistic to believe. She now has more than 25 million books sold worldwide. She is known for creating characters who are as familiar as the people next door. They are usually involved in emotional, funny situations that the reader can easily identify with in their own lives.

Susan Mallery grew up in southern California, and admits to moving so many times that her friends used a pencil so her address could be easily changed. She is very much interested in animals and their well-being, so she incorporates various pets in her stories. Mallery's books have been translated into 28 languages. She lives in Washington state with her husband, two cats, and a small poodle who, as she describes it, "has delusions of grandeur".

An interesting side Story is that her friend, author Debbie Macomber gave her a bottle of champagne to open when she had her first New York Times #1 selling novel. In August 2015, she finally made the #1 list with her novel, Thrill Me, which debuted at the #1 spot. Mallery opened the champagne the night she found out the news, and raised a toast to Debbie and to her great readers who helped her reach that goal.

Susan Mallery always promises another year of happy books, and wishes her fans happy reading!

Awww. This is just a *nice* story with enough tension to make it interesting. The tension comes from a truly evil OW who gets the fresh-off-the-boat English heroine fired from her job in Sydney and in an eye-brow raising coincidence, schemes to marry the hero, the titular "outback man." Our heroine i......more

Good God Almighty, I wanted to slap the heroine into the next millennium. Why not? Everyone else did, metaphorically. Set up by one the biggest EW bitch's EVER at her old firm for absconding funds she loses her boyfriend the EW has her eye on. She doesn't even float out a defense. Goes to the Outback......more

Clean, sweet romance with an innocent helpful little heroine with big eyes and a big ol manly outback man. I've noticed a distinct trend with Amanda Doyle romances though. There's always an evil, plotting, scheming OW who manipulates things to put the heroine in a bad light, and the heroine always a......more

Quite a nice story for the first half, except the OW was horrid and the hero supposedly saw through her - but did nothing to stop her as she was his friend and thought she would make it up to the heroine. It's a shame as the story was charming up until the point the OW came to stay. The heroine beco......more
