I have to say I really liked this one. I've read a lot of other reviews that other people have written stating it wasn't a good book. Repeatedly they said it wasn't among Ed Grenwood's best work. I have to say I disagree. Granted, I've only read the first book. And I've read a fair amount of Greenwo......more

“Plenty of vividly depicted action, odd bits of original and usually effective humor, and a real cliffhanger ending that leaves no doubt that this is the first volume in a series, one that promises to be agreeably entertaining all the way.” Booklist
“A graceful tale of high fantasy.” Library Journal
“Pure listening pleasure…Enthusiastically recommended.” Library Bookwatch
