Synopsis

Narrated by Pretty Little Liars star and Teen Choice award-winner Janel Parrish, The Journeys of John and Julia: Genesis is the first in a series about magic, friendship, and adventure. For John and Julia, the magic is just beginning. The Twenty-Two are watching. Reality will never be the same. It all starts after Julia's dad takes off to start a new family, and her mom decides to ruin her summer, too. Instead of cheerleader camp, Julia's sent to her grandmother's in the nowhere town of Cedarwood Ridge where she finds that her usual ice-queen act won't cut it with her childhood friend John, who's a lot cuter than Julia remembers and not half the geek she thought he was. Definitely a romance in the making, if it weren't for the visitations from her grandfather's ghost and John's infuriating openness to such phenomena. Plus, a group of magical beings called The Twenty-Two are secretly watching over John and Julia and making big summer plans of their own. Including John and Julia's future role in saving the world from their nemesis-to-be, the beyond-evil Niem Vidalgo Oten.In this first book of a series about magic, friendship, and adventure, a seemingly mismatched pair of teens crack open the door to another reality."I really loved the story, I just thought it was such a nice coming of age story about finding yourself and believing in yourself, and sticking true to how you really feel." -Janel Parrish, narrator

It is enjoyable as long as you are willing to be bounced between dimensions, and various places on earth as well. Laugh out loud in......more

Cannot wait to read the seco......more

Julia is a thirteen-year-old girl to whom this happens. Her dad has left to live with his girlfriend and start a ne......more

Ummm. I don't think... I mean... why did they... what about that guy... First of how many books? and I don't think 13 year old shopaholic cheerleaders, even ones who are in therapy, talk like that. I didn't mind the changes in POV, except that everyone, everyone, everyone! was completely self-aware a......more

What a fun ride The Journeys of John and Julia was! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I enjoy YA Fantasy but I don't make much time to read this genre, so it's refreshing to find one that I really enjoyed. The storyline is very entertaining. The book starts off with the twenty-two having a confe......more
