Synopsis

Christopher Kit Marlowe (baptised 26 February 1564 30 May 1593) was an English dramatist, poet, and translator of the Elizabethan era. The foremost Elizabethan tragedian before William Shakespeare, he is known for his magnificent blank verse, his overreaching protagonists, and his own untimely death.

About Christopher Marlowe

Christopher Marlowe (1564–1593) was a playwright, poet, and, famously, a contemporary of and influence on the great bard Shakespeare. Though he died before his thirtieth birthday and his career lasted only six years, he nonetheless made a lasting impression on literary history with his works such as The Tragicall History of Doctor Faustus, Tamburlaine the Great, and The Jew of Malta.
